Romancing Nature

I had heard much about the scenic beauty of Udaipur a city in Rajasthan. So I decided to see it for myself. My visit to Udaipur in Rajasthan was solely to experience the City of Lakes. I decided to book a luxurious room with Trident hotel.
Udaipur is a rich and charming tapestry of lakeside palaces, forts, temples and gardens. Built over forty three acres on the banks of Lake Pichola, hotel Trident Udaipur is a comfortable place to stay. It is 27 kilometers from the airport and is perfectly located to explore the famed sites of the city, such as the City Palace, the Crystal Gallery, the Monsoon Palace or the beautiful Jagmandir.
The 137 luxury rooms and 4 suites at the Trident Udaipur blend elegance and style with traditional touches and contemporary comforts. The hotel rooms feature elegantly designed window frames and 'Jaipuri Kalam' or artwork in vegetable dyes. Furnished in soothing, earthy tones, one can see the 'Udaipur Green' marble in the décor, a specialty of the region.

It offers refreshing views of the hotel’s lush and manicured gardens, where you can spot the occasional peacock frolicking in the shade of an African Tulip. Furnished with handcrafted furniture, warm earthy tones and accented by local artwork from Rajasthan, these hotel rooms have a classic setting that offers sheer comfort and modern amenities to suit the needs of the contemporary traveler
Guests can enjoy a walk in the garden hearing stories of Bada Mahal - a 150-year old wildlife conservatory within the hotel premises.

I booked the Deluxe Lake View Room
With relaxing views of Udaipur’s tranquil Lake Pichola, the 18 Lake View Rooms are the perfect place to relax and unwind after a fulfilling day of sightseeing or work. My room was decorated in warm earthy palette, with handcrafted furniture and a king size bed, the room was ornate with local artworks and offered all modern conveniences.

A restful night on the posturepedic mattress and duck down pillows was a great welcome after a day of sightseeing in the city. It’s a great sight to view the hotel garden and the swimming pool from the comfortable chairs in my room.

Fitted with a seating area, the air-conditioned rooms had an interactive TV, a personal safe, and internet access. Coffee/tea making facilities and a minibar were also included.  It was a place to relax and romance with nature. At the Back there was a lake. In the morning I could see peacocks from the room.
Guests can also enjoy access to high speed internet for up to 4 devices with the compliments of the hotel.

The dining options include Aravalli the multi-cuisine restaurant and The Terrace, which serves international dishes. Amrit Mahal offers a selection of drinks, including wines and spirits.
All your needs are well taken care of. The staff is smiling, helpful and friendly.
There is an excellent business centre. One can make an appointment at the barber/beauty shop. Staff at the 24-hour front desk offers assistance with currency exchange, car rental or babysitting services. Parking is free.
It’s a traditional hotel seeped in luxury and the natural landscape rewards you for your stay. This would be the hotel of my choice on my next visit to Udaipur. It’s an excellent
hotel set in lovely grounds overlooking the lake Pichola shared with the more upmarket Oberoi.
This is also one of the top-rated locations in Udaipur.

Unexpected Magic of Warmth Moment

“Life is a rat race” this is an emotion experienced by almost everyone who is working and competing in today's world. My life would have been just a rat race however this rat race can become that much more difficult if you have a colleague who leaves no attempt to step on your toes. Mine was such a life but I could not complain for I was a small town wannabe moving to a big town in search of a better future and a stable job.
I took my time settling into the new lifestyle and getting used to bracing my self to the challenges of the corporate culture that was quite new for me.
The fact that I was assigned to a team that had an office worker who was nothing short of an office bully. He made me divulge every idea of mine and presented it as his own.
The points and ideas that I presented were opposed vociferously by him. As he was my senior there was little I could do.
Matters became so difficult that I was contemplating a change of job. I even started looking for a new opening that would be suitable for me.
In the meantime I tried my best to cope up with the office situation.
On one occasion our office was to be represented at an important regional meet. As luck would have it I and my bully colleague were picked up to represent the office. The job of creating the presentation was thrust upon me. However the presentation part was to be handled by both of us collectively.
I was assigned an office laptop to prepare the presentation. I diligently work on the presentation and did my best to make it as informative as possible.

As the conference was at an off site location we traveled and reached our destination a day in advance. In the evening when we switched on the laptop to practice the presentation. The laptop would not turn on. There was only the clicking sound of the hard drive. We got the laptop examined by the IT support team who informed us that the hard disk had crashed. This news made my heart sink and I knew for sure that all the blame would fall on me. Thinking of the consequences tears began to flow from my eyes.
As I was mentally preparing myself to face the music. My resourceful colleague arranged for an alternate laptop. As I had some notes with me I started recreating my presentation. To my utter surprise my colleague started helping me. He guided me like a true mentor and this was very encouraging. We sat throughout the night working on our presentation. The final presentation turned out to be even better then what I had prepared initially. When we presented it our ideas were greatly appreciated at the conference. We had successes as a team and I had earned some valuable experience and a very good mentor. When we left back from the venue. The bully had been left behind and instead the person who came along was a warm and caring colleague. #MagicOfWarmth

Way to a Healthy Heart

Dear Readers
I am a doctor and here is my prescription for a heart that is up to 50% Healthier

Rx
#1 Eat Better:

Stop constant snacking, which increases the risk of obesity and cardiovascular diseases.
Staples in your kitchen should be 100 percent whole wheat or grains, low-fat dairy products, poultry, fish and nuts. Boost your intake of foods that contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s are a healthy type of polyunsaturated fat. Omega-3 fatty acids offer protection from heart disease and can be found in foods such as salmon, mackerel, flax seeds, and walnuts and in certain vitamin and mineral supplements. Set a goal of 10 servings of fresh or frozen produce per day.
The healthy plant substances found in fruits and vegetables can help prevent heart disease. Replace refined grain products with whole grain products. Choose whole-wheat flours, 100% whole grain bread, high-fiber cereal, whole grain pasta, oats, brown rice and barley.
Stay away from white or refined flours, white bread, frozen waffles, biscuits, corn bread, egg noodles, granola bars, high-fat snacks, quick breads, cakes, pies, donuts and buttered popcorn.
Although what you eat is important for hearts health, how much you eat is also a factor in improving overall heart health. Refrain from overeating, which can lead to excess fat, cholesterol and calorie intake. Sodium increases blood pressure because it holds excess fluid in your body, and places an added burden on your heart. Because blood pressure rises with age, eating less sodium now will help curb that rise and reduce your risk of developing conditions which induce heart disease. Food labels should be our best friends. Choose the ones with the lowest amount of sodium. Food labels help us maintain a heart-healthy diet that includes foods that are low in fat, cholesterol and sodium.
Set realistic goals and limits. Small steps and gradual changes can make a big difference in your health over time, so start small take the #ChhoteKadam and build up your heart's health.

#2. Stay Active:
Do Physical activity and Stay Active.
Limit TV, computer and phone time to few hours each day as it leads to a sedentary lifestyle and constant
Exercise as a family; ride bikes, take a walk, go swimming or play games outside. Make heart health fun by incorporating games into your family activities or walk to a park for a healthy picnic dinner. Celebrate successes to promote a positive sense of self-esteem.
A simple routine of walking can go a long way in improving your heart's health. Get a friend or neighbor to go with you the idea being that if either of you misses the other one can encourage being regular.
#3. Be Happy
Being happy is a great way for you to fight stress and help you heart become and remain happy and healthy. A happy person is in a better frame of mind to deal with stress causing situations, finding a solution and come out of it.

Even if you make the commitment to exercise and eat a healthy diet. Be aware of major risk factors. A family history of heart disease, or hypertension, high cholesterol, cigarette smoking, or diabetes, can increase your probability of having a heart attack.
Don’t ignore symptoms. If you have shortness of breath or chest pains, get your checkup done immediately.

Love your heart

Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women. There are many things one can do every day to keep your heart healthy. Nourish the emotional heart as well as the physical heart. The heart is not just a pump it's the fountainhead of all emotions, whether it's joy and exhilaration or sadness and frustration. Mental and emotional stress can disrupt the emotional heart. Your heart needs just a few #ChhoteKadam to stay up to 50% Healthier.
So what are these #ChhoteKadam that you need to take?
- Be Active. Being Active is very therapeutic
If you are active your heart is healthy, it will be able to work for a very long time. It is up to you to keep your heart healthy. Exercise every day. You need to exercise your heart by making it work harder for at least 30 minutes a day. Meditation and Yoga technique twice daily helps in lowering blood pressure, reversing arterial blockage and enhancing resistance to all types of stress.Worry Free and Blissful Joy nourish the mind and emotions. Inner strength and the cultivation of positive attitudes and emotions increase heart health.
Walking is an excellent exercise for everyone and excellent therapy as well. The early morning is ideal for taking a 30-minute walk. It will not only help your heart; it will prepare you for the day by charging up your circulation and your metabolism.
-Eating Better
Eat a healthy diet. Too much fatty food will block up the arteries with fat and your heart will have to work harder and harder just to do its regular job of pumping blood round your body. Eat the foods your body needs and not what your heart likes.
Drink lots of water every day rather than fizzy drinks. Make good choices as you grow older. Your heart will love you for it.
Eat a heart-friendly diet. Eat more servings of fresh fruits and vegetables; start your day with stewed apples or pears; include soaked blanched almonds in your diet; dress your veggies with fresh lime juice; and eat heart-friendly spices such as fresh-ground black pepper and the antioxidant power-spice turmeric. Choose fresh foods over processed foods or leftovers; light foods over rich, deep-fried ones; and warm, cooked foods over cold, heavy foods.
Eat moderately. Don't skip meals, because eating three meals at regular times each day helps digest the food. Don't tax your digestion by eating late at night or eating a heavy meal at dinner.

Being Happy
Spend time every day on those activities that give you this contentment and happiness.
Listen to soothing or uplifting music, enjoy serene natural beauty. Maintain a positive attitude and walk away from situations that distress or anger you.
Practice good bedtime habits — favor restful, calming activities as bedtime draws near to help disconnect the mind from the senses. Keep your bedroom clear of distractions — television, computers, other work-related material. Stay away from stimulants in the evening. Go to bed by 10 p.m. — early to bed and early to rise still works to keep you healthy and energetic through the day.
